Salman Khan is gearing up for the release of Sikandar. Ahead of the same, the superstar addressed misconceptions about his work ethic such as arriving late on sets and leaving early. He clarified the rumours by saying that, unlike others, he starts his day around noon and doesn’t even sit or return to his vanity van once he is on set.

Talking about his work ethic, Salman Khan told India Today, “There are many stories about me coming late and not being serious about my work. I have done more than 100 films, more than anyone else apart from my senior actors. It wouldn’t be possible to achieve this if I were constantly late or leaving early. There is a discipline 100 per cent, but my timings are as such. Some people start working at 6 am, I start around 11:30- 12 because I’ve got a lot of other work to do, like signing a lot of papers, making calls, and working out. Then I have to come back, relax, have my coffee, and understand the scene. She (Rashmika) knows that once I am there on the set, I don’t even go back to the van or even sit. They set up a tent wherever needed, and I stay there."

He also clarified that such rumours about his professionalism scares others from working with him. He told the same portal, “I have friends who would like to share these moments that I have my timings. For them, it’s like complimenting me, but then what happens with that is you’re scaring people away from working with me. It gives the impression that I don’t have to put in much effort. They feel that ‘He just stands, goes, and does his own thing.’ But that’s not true." He said that there is a lot of hard work that is not visible. The actor said that doesn’t show it, but mentally, his mind is constantly working, especially on scenes and emotions. Salman also shared that since he is a writer’s son, thinking and analysing comes naturally to him.

Rashmika Mandanna, who plays Salman’s leading lady in Sikandar, also echoed similar thoughts. She chimed in, saying that she too had heard similar rumours before working with the superstar. But, she saw a different story unfold before her eyes when she actually started working with Salman. “This is the reality and I don’t understand why there’s so much commotion around," Rashmika expressed.

Meanwhile, Sikandar is slated for release on March 30. Directed by AR Murugadoss, the film also stars Sathyaraj, Kajal Aggarwal, and Sharman Joshi, and others.
